Scott Lyall Memorial Fundraiser
In memory of a dedicated, passionate and long serving member of our club.

Scott's contributions to the club, the lives he touched and the memories he created will leave a lasting legacy. There is no forgetting his wicked sense of humour, he could make anyone smile and was beyond generous, even to complete strangers.
Scott's family has asked that donations be made to support the programs he was most passionate about.
Scott Lyall joined East York Rotary in 1996. He was a fast learner and became Vice President and also Chairman of Membership in 1997. He was President of the club in 1998 - 1999, and he liked it so much, that he stayed on as President in 1999 - 2000, or, more likely he stayed on because he knew it was what was needed for the club at that time. One of Scott's favourite Rotary events was the Auction. In his early years working at the Auction, he was performing a variety of tasks including being on the main desk, but then he moved over to the Info Desk, where he became a fixture for many years, helping, often frustrated or angry, potential bidders, get the information they needed to make a bid.Working at the auction was important to him, but Scott's main focus was always items, items, items. The number of items Scott brought to the action each year was literally by the truckload. Whenever we held an auction at any of our social evenings, Scott could always be counted on to bid and to bid high. He made sure the bidding started and kept going - all while having fun and in the name of helping Rotary. He loved Rotary and was dedicated to giving back to his community. If you see a picture of Scott at any Rotary event, guaranteed there's a smile on his face.
